Annual Charity Summer Fair
Set in the beautiful grounds of Forde Abbey, the annual charity Summer Fair has something for every member of the family (and your dog too!)
It’s a lovely day out with live music, classic cars, model boats, a dog show, scurry and flyball, birds of prey displays, a fun fair, fly fishing, a food court, lots of fabulous street food and so much more besides!
The Fair will be open from 11am to 4pm with free parking and allocated parking for registered disabled Blue Badge visitors. Dogs are very welcome on a short lead.
Reduced price admission tickets to the fair may be bought in advance online or in person from the Forde Abbey Shop from 1st June 2019.

In Advance: Family Ticket £14 (2 adults & up to 3 children); Adult £6.00, Children (5-15) £2
On the Day: Family Ticket £20 (2 adults & up to 3 children), Adult £8.00, Children (5-15) 2.50
As this is a fund raising event for charity, membership cards and discounts do not apply.
Here are some of the attractions that will be taking place on the day:
Xtreme Falconryis a falconry bird of prey display team based in Dorset close to Devon and Somerset run by Martin Ballam.
You may have also seen Martin appearing in television shows giving advice and demonstrating the work he has been involved in. Such shows include Animal hospital, CBBC, Sky TV, BBC South East, BBC South West, The BBC Weather Programme and The Really Wild Show.
Alpha Alpacas– Di from Alpha Alpacas can help advise anyone who wants to get into working with these amazing animals.
Fly fishing demonstrations and a chance to have a go yourself – on the lake.
MODEL BOATS ON THE GREAT POND
Strawberry Jam Entertainments who will be performing her brilliant magic shows, arts & crafts, balloons & circus skills!
There is now a whole area dedicated to dogs.
A Dog Show with pedigree, novelty classes – great exercise for all kinds of dogs (and their owners)
Fantastic Food Avenue and The Farmer’s Market providing refreshments for all different taste buds. Top quality food and drink provided by local producers.

A little about the two chosen charities –
Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution. RABI is a welfare charity for the farming community. It supports around 2,000 families a year and pays out approximately £2 million in grants. Farmers produce the food we depend on and look after the countryside we enjoy. Yet one in four lives on or below the poverty line (Commission for Rural Communities 2010). Every application for support is treated on its own merits. RABI works with compassion, discretion and friendship.

Riding for the Disabled Groups provide riding and carriage driving sessions for disabled children and adults in the local Somerset, Devon and Dorset area.
