Joining an eclectic programme of events for Beaminster festival this year, Christian Tyler will be talking about the history of the Abbey from 1141 to the present day, delving into its fascinating past and some of the people that have called it ‘home.’
Nominated for the British Press Awards and the Pulitzer Prize, Christian spent thirty years as a staff writer on the Financial Times and was a feature writer, columnist and book reviewer for the Weekend FT.
Christian’s father, Richard Tyler, was for some years the architect for Forde Abbey, so it’s certainly true to say he has more than an insider’s view of the interior and its architecture.
