Plant Nursery Open
June 1 11:00 am - October 31 5:00 pm
In response to the Government allowing the reopening of garden centres, we have reopened the plant nursery at Forde Abbey from Saturday 30th June. It is now open daily from 11am with a seasonal selection of reasonably priced herbaceous perennials, grown on site, along with helpful advice and pots of inspiration for the garden.
Our foremost priority remains the health and safety of our members, visitors and staff and we will do everything possible to ensure Government social distancing measures are followed.
Please join us in welcoming back Paul Bygrave on the team, who will be propagating and growing plants from the garden to sell in the nursery. It’s an ideal opportunity to see the plants themselves woven into seasonal displays throughout the garden, and will hopefully be a beautiful memento of Forde Abbey to take home with you.
Helping Paul for two days a week is Jo Witts, and together the nursery team will be on hand to offer friendly help and advice throughout the year. Our range will include a seasonally-ever-changing selection of herbaceous perennials and grasses, reliable garden stalwarts that we consider, first and foremost, to be good garden plants.
As we are a small nursery many plants are only produced in small numbers. Therefore, we often sell out of more popular lines; if you are seeking a particular plant please telephone a few days in advance of coming to check availability.
Forde Abbey Nursery is situated adjacent to the walled Kitchen Garden at Forde Abbey. You can visit the nursery, and adjoining gift shop, without having to purchase an admission ticket for the House or Garden.
The garden is now open to visitors, and we look forward to sharing with you all the efforts of our hard work over the past few months. You can find out more information on your visit here .
