Christmas at Forde Abbey is a magical time of year, and this December we’ll be inviting you to share in the joy and wonder of the season with an enchanting trail around the gardens.
After dark, and for the very first time, we’ll be lighting the long borders, illuminating the champion trees and casting a magical shine over the house – Forde Abbey as you’ve never seen it before.
Inside the house, the Great Hall and chapel, as well as the private family dining room and drawing room will be decorated for the festivities and, with a little bit of time on his hands before the big day, Father Christmas will be popping in on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th December. There are letters to sort and presents to wrap, so why not join him by the fireside in the Great Hall and watch the elves in action.
Father Christmas would love to meet you and your children and might also have a very special present for them if they’ve been good. Each day they’ll be a selection of time slots available so don’t forgot to sign up to see him when you arrive. (For children, the cost is £2 on top of admission).
Warm your hands on a mug of mulled wine in the tearooms and enjoy mince pies and a selection of homemade treats on the menu.
Open everyday except Mondays and Tuesdays, 3.30pm – 8pm.
Sensible shoes are recommended.
Please be advised that gifts for younger visitors will be aimed at those aged 11 and under and that you might have to wait your turn, but also be equally reassured that Father Christmas’ helper
is very good on time keeping and will ensure that everyone will have a few minutes with him.
