Friday night is music night at Forde Abbey as Louise Innes and Elizabeth Cragg take to the stage to sing their all time favourites from opera classics to sultry standards by Cole Porter and George Gershwin, bringing you a Nuit D’Amour.
Together, they’ll be performing some of the most beautiful and well-known duets from operas, including the Letter Duet from Mozart’s ‘The Marriage of Figaro’, ‘Belle nuit, o nuit d’amour’ (from The Tales of Hoffmann, Offenbach), ‘Sous le dôme epais’ from Lakmé, (otherwise known as the British Airways duet!) and arias from Puccini’s ‘La Bohème’ and Saint-Saens ‘Samson and Delilah’.
Before finishing with the sparkle and glamour of Operetta and and well-known classics by Cole Porter and George Gershwin.
From Covent Garden to 10 Downing Street, La Scala to Chequers, Louise and Lizzy have travelled the globe bringing opera and the American songbook to life.
A champagne bar will be open from 7pm to further the fizz and the performance will start at 7.30pm.
