Critically acclaimed new opera company Wild Arts (★★★★★ Opera Now, ★★★★ The Guardian) return to Forde Abbey with a new production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute, sung in English by a dream cast of exceptional singers, with a chamber orchestra of 10 top musicians, directed by James Hurley, designed by Sophie Lincoln and conducted by Orlando Jopling.
Mozart The Magic Flute
Our Opera evening is a love story built around your favourite opera classics. In a dream-like world, the (nearly) heroic Tamino falls in love with Pamina, the kidnapped daughter of the mysterious Queen of the Night. He must go on a quest with a hapless bird-catcher as partner, to rescue her. All sung by the stars of tomorrow and played by a stunning string quintet.
You are welcome to arrive at 5pm to set up your picnic, and bring food, drink, rugs, chairs, tables, friends, candelabras and whatever else you would like to enjoy the summer evening.
Performance will start at 6pm and will end around 8.30pm.
Free parking is included with your ticket. Only 150 tickets will be offered for sale, so please book early.
